7 1/4 Inch Chaloner
This is a 7 1/4 Inch version of our Popular Chaloner. It's a vertical boiler narrow gauge locomotive built by De Winton for use in the Welsh slate industry in 1877. It survives in preservation and is one of the oldest locomotives in working order.
The model has the distinctive twin cylinder De Winton set up with direct drive to the front axle. Piston valves are used so as to maintain the correct look of the cylinder block with the valves tucked between the cylinders.
There is full Stephensons link valve gear as on the full size engine. The boiler comes coal fired and is of welded copper construction, fully lagged. The boiler is fed from the front water tank by an Axel pump, with a hand pump in reserve.
There is a displacement lubricator of large dimensions tucked in inconspicuously beside the cylinders, other fittings are whistle, cylinder drains, pressure and water gauges, etc. This engine will pull up to eight people on level track, and in gas fired form is a very easy engine to manage. Goods are sent by the cheapest method appropriate to the size of the package anywhere in the world. This will generally be (UK post) post or carriers standard overnight service. (Europe and the rest of the world) post or carriers standard 7day service. Items in excess of 600mm (2ft) all sheet material and castings will incur additional packing, which must be allowed for. We cannot accept liability for loss or damage unless notified immediately and confirmed in writing within 7 working days of the date of dispatch.

CANCELLATIONS & RETURNS
The cancellation of any order or service within 7 working days will not incur a penalty. This period runs from the day the contract is concluded for services & the day after the day of delivery for goods. After this all order & services will be subject to a 20% administration charge. Defective items will be replaced free of charge; any other item returned to us will incur a restocking charge of 20%. We do not supply books on approval.
