7 1/4 Inch Opal with Drivers Truck
The Hunslet Engine Company of Leeds entered the narrow gauge market as early as 1870, supplying many side and saddle tank locomotives to ironstone and slate quarries, particularly in Wales.
The model represents a typical Hunslet of the period with feedwater side tanks, and enclosed cab. The rear cab panel is removable to provide access to the cab when driving.
A really lovely set-up with a 7 1/4" Maxitrak Opal and matching lined drivers truck, this one was ordered as a kit, then brought back to the factory for assembly. Seen very little use, original boiler paperwork from Brian Nicholls included, plus build instructions. The seat on the drivers truck lifts off for storage, all in all would make a fine addition to any garden or club railway!
