Phoenix TUG project 7 1/4
Built by Phoenix locomotive works, supplied as a kit of parts to build any way you want; large substantial model for club running, ride in so good adhesion weight. Previous owner wanted to put this 6HP diesel electric start engine in to produce a generator set, so it's up to you how you want to build it! It has included, 6hp engine, 1 x 800 watt motor, small (untested) electronic control. most of the large parts seem to be there, all the important parts anyway!
Its Current axles are 7 1/4" Gauge but there is loads of room to up gauge it to 10 1/4" I reckon! The wheels are there, not attached to the axles so simple to change at this point!
Its a slab sided laser cut beast but I’m told they do serious haulage in service. I’m assuming you can get parts from Phoenix but this is what their website says:
- Length over couplings: 50.60in / 1285mm
- Height rail to seat back panel: 33.50in / 850 mm
- Width over buffer-beams: 22.50in / 570 mm
- Weight: 87kg (estimated) without batteries.
- Regular gearing: 9-10 mph / 14-16 kph
- Construction: Folded 3mm steel
- Finish: Powder coated black
- Wheels: 143.7mm (5.65in) diameter - CNC machined EN8 steel
- Axles: 25mm diameter CNC machined steel
- Side frames: Laser cut, folded steel channel
- Body structure: All steel laser cut panels. CNC folded.
